Video: Real-Time Live-Cell Analysis of 3D Tumor Spheroid Invasion

Cell invasion, a hallmark of malignant cancers, plays a key role in tumor metastasis and primarily involves cellular reorganization and degradation of extracellular matrix (ECM). Conventional in vitro invasion models such as the filter based transwell invasion assay are widely used, however lack comprehensive cell-ECM interactions.

Here, we describe a simple 3D tumor spheroid invasion model, to summarize key features of the metastatic phenotype, and demonstrate use of live-cell imaging Spheroid Invasion Analysis software to monitor and quantify spheroid invasion
